Am I going mad or did I once read (long long ago) about a Strat-stye guitar having a nonstandard pickup configuration that went something like. 1 - bridge 2 - bridge & middle 3 - bridge & middle out of phase 4 - middle 5 - neck The reason I ask is that my Blade is in the repair shop having a humbucker fitted in the bridge position (its a very early R3) and the shop just called me to ask if I have had the electrics modifyed.

It turns out that the neck pickup is wired permanently on the output and is on, no matter where the switch is. The guy has never seen a wiring configuration like it and was struggling to make sense of it. I am wondering if the guitar has always been wired wrong or its some weird switch configuration that I was never made aware of? All advise/suggestions are better than no help/advise. (I never picked up on this while in use as the switch did give a more crisp tone in the bridge postition and seemed to be doing as it should). I was told by Levinson (no g this time) that is an RH3 but from my searching years ago the only visable differance between the R and the RH was a humbucker in the bridge. As mine doesn't have the hummer, I guess its just an R.
